Privacy policy

This policy explains what information DealSquishy (“we”) collects when you use this website, how it is used, and the choices you have. DealSquishy is meant for people in the United States.
What we collect
Accounts (optional). You can use DealSquishy without an account. If you create one, we keep your email address, when you joined and last signed in, and, if you use Discord to sign in, your Discord user ID and display name. From Discord we ask only for your username and email address, never your messages or servers. We never ask for a password, your home address or payment details.
Sign-in emails. To sign you in, we email you a one-time link and code. These emails are sent for us by our email provider, Resend, and contain nothing else. We don't send marketing email, newsletters or price alerts.
Saved finds and feed layouts. If you save a find with the heart button or set up columns in My Feeds, that is stored in your own browser (local storage). If you're signed in, we also keep a copy in your account so it's there on your other devices. Signing out removes it from that browser. If you're not signed in, it isn't sent to us, and you can clear it any time in your browser settings.
Server logs. Like most websites, our server and hosting provider record technical details for security and reliability, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request. To stop abuse of sign-in, we also count recent sign-in attempts using a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address and email address, and delete those counts within a day.
Squishy AI chats. When you send a message to Squishy AI, it goes to our server and then to Anthropic, which provides the Claude AI model that writes the reply. Anthropic handles it under its commercial terms, which by default do not allow training its models on it. Our server keeps recent messages in memory for up to two hours so follow-up questions make sense, and does not save chat text to disk. To limit abuse, it counts messages per visitor using a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address. Please don't share personal details in the chat.
Email. If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply.
Cookies, affiliate links and the stores we link to
DealSquishy does not set its own advertising or analytics cookies, and we don't show display ads or use ad networks. If you sign in, we set the small cookies needed to keep you signed in: a random session key and a note that you're signed in. They last up to 60 days or until you sign out.
When you click a paid link, you leave DealSquishy for the store's website. The stores we link to, including Walmart, and the affiliate networks that run their programs (such as Impact) may place or recognize cookies on your browser and may receive information about you and your visit, for example that you arrived from DealSquishy and what you bought, so they can credit us with a commission. Their own privacy policies apply to that information. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; doing so may stop us from being credited, but won't change your price.
Other services
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which also stores account data for us. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address. If you join our Discord server or sign in with Discord, Discord's privacy policy applies to your Discord account.
How we use and share information
We use information only to run, secure and improve DealSquishy. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Your California privacy rights
If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to ask us to delete or correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We don't sell or share it, so there is nothing to opt out of. If you have an account, you can download your data or delete your account yourself on your account page; deleting it removes your feeds and saved finds right away. You can also make any request through our contact page. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.
Children
DealSquishy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act). You must be 13 or older to create an account. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Email from us
We only email you to sign you in, when you ask for it. We don't send marketing email. If we ever start a newsletter, it will be sign-up only, every email will include a working unsubscribe link and our mailing address, and we'll follow the CAN-SPAM Act.
Keeping information safe
We keep only what we need, for as long as we need it, and protect it with reasonable safeguards. No website can promise perfect security.
